Chevrolet described the styling of 2006 Chevrolet HHR to be a combination of a 1949 Suburban and SSR roadster truck for producing an exclusive combination. It was built on the same design platform as Chevrolet Cobalt and provided ample seating arrangement for five passengers with reconfigurable cabin capacity.

It was offered with a 2.4-liter Ecotec engine which churned out 172 horsepower, while the 2006 Chevrolet HHR 2.2 Lit Ecotec engine with 5-Speed manual transmission delivered 143-horsepower, along with an elective 4-speed automatic transmission.

On the whole, 2006 Chevrolet HHR was a clean truck with appealing exteriors like that of Chrysler PT Cruiser. The retro appearance was cool; however, the retro standards of utility and practicality were even nicer.
